May 3, 2012 in Animal Rights, General Stuff!

Henry E. Brock...... you sorry excuse for a man.....  Last summer, this man's ex-wife filmed him while he kicked, dragged, and used a cattle prod on this 10-year-old Senior dog last year!  The video speaks for itself!  Alexis Brock said the dog didn't like being on a chain, and that Brock started beating it while she and their 2-year-old son watched! Unfortunately a long time went by before this was discovered, and we don't know how many times it happened to this dog or any other.  Alexis Read more [...]

May 1, 2012 in General Stuff!, New York

A 64-year-old breeder, Sylvia Penetta, was arrested and charged with animal cruelty in Middletown, New York.  On a tip, the police raided her home and found 76 dogs, most who were Rottweilers, who she had been breeding and selling.  The conditions were awful enough to seize the dogs, two being injured.  Penetta was selling the dogs on her website,   Karousel Kennels.   Some of the most serious  dogs were taken by local rescues, but area shelters are not equipped to handle such a load intake. What is Heartworm?

April 27, 2012 in General Stuff!, Health & Safety

I had personally never heard the word "heartworm" until I started rescue.  Being in California, it seemed that this ailment never existed.  But, the more pets I see in shelters, the more I'm finding the word. Heartworm comes from the bite of an infected mosquito.  You'll find that dogs who have been left outside at night may be more apt to get the disease.  It is not a death sentence unless it goes untreated. Heartworm has been reported to exist all over the United States now. You Read more [...]

April 22, 2012 in Animal Rights, General Stuff!

According to a Facebook page called "REFORM DEVORE ANIMAL SHELTER", Devore Shelter in San Bernardino County, CA has AGAIN pulled an unexplainable act that will lead to endless deaths of adoptable pets.  Rescuers and every-day people who network these faces before they get killed by this shelter are now scraping for details on the pets in need.  Most shelters will have what they call a "kennel card" which will explain details on each pet including intake date, age, breed, available date, spayed/neutered, Read more [...]

April 22, 2012 in Animal Rights, General Stuff!

While people met at City Hall to have a vigil for Justice, the suspect, Darius Ewing turned himself in! He was the person who allegedly flicked the cigarette onto the 4-month-old puppy covered in lighter fluid. He was NOT the only one there, causing this situation. Please, if you know anything about this incident in Dallas, Texas, for Justice's sake, make things right and turn these other cowards in. Hopfully Ewing will talk. Read more [...]

April 22, 2012 in Animal Rights, General Stuff!, In memory of....
