This sweet honey had been neglected, malnourished and never groomed. The innocence of this magnificent animal had been discarded. How can anyone be so cruel? She's been in pain from her overgrown hooves, and her hair has been pulling at her sore skin with feces matted lumps.
Halo's Haven Rescue has been caring for her for a month now, and we personally thank them for caring so much, and send Bonnie well wishes.

I Miss Him…
We called him Sarge, for he was proud.
His head stood high, and his neigh was loud.
I didn’t know where he had been
But for seven years he blessed my pen.
Every morning I woke to see him there,
His nostrils sniffing the morning air,
His eyes watching my window for me…
Wagging his tail impatiently.
With a snicker and ear twitch he’d greet me

It’s that time of year again. And if you’re like me, you’re looking for an insurance company who will accept horses.
Even if you’re not boarding horses, everyday insurance policy carriers seem to have a problem with having horses on the premises. I’ve spoken to all of the big guys, and 85% said no horses. The other 15% said 2 horses total. Hmmmmmm….. what do you do if you have three or more?

For those who have shared your time with us on HorseShadows.com, you will know my inspiration for starting that website which eventually led to US Animal Rescue. Sarge was my heart… he was the most innocent, caring, sharing, humble, sweet, and tolerable horse I will ever have met.
I never will know his past before I met him 7 years ago.
I never will forget the years he graced me with.
I will always hold dear to my heart the images of him nuzzling my children.
