San Bernardino City Shelter …giving no time for shelter pets to live!

San Bernardino City in California has claimed Bankruptcy.  What does this mean for the shelter pets?  They have become casualties of politics and as of this day being EUTHANIZED at outrageous rates over at the San Bernardino CITY Animal Shelter.  These pets have 4 days for their owners to reclaim them.  If they are not returned, they will be euthanized sometimes within the next day.  There is NO TIME for rescues to step in and help these pets.  Money again wins over Life!  Is there no shame in how easy it is to kill?  We as a community need to look at this situation with our hearts.  Please help a pet and save its life.  Click HERE for San Bernardino Animal Control Link.

Governor Jerry Brown’s Budget to KILL SHELTER PETS may be presented this Monday.

Shot down the first time in April, Governor Brown is going to try it AGAIN!  His second revised budget completely killing the HAYDEN’S ACT is being presented this Monday, May 14th, 2012 according to the LA Times.

On April 11, 2012, the California State Legislature unanimously rejected Brown’s attempts to repeal Hayden’s Act.  Both Senate and Assembly are on board with those of us who want our sheltered pets protected.  The Hayden’s Act provides mandated holding periods before the pets are euthanized to six days, giving owners and rescues time to get the pets out. It also requires the lost pets to be posted.  There are requirements for shelters to stay open non-business day hours so people can get their pets out after work and on weekends.  The shelters also must work with rescues.  If Hayden’s Act is dissolved, there will be absolutely no protection for California Shelter Pets.

You can help by contacting Brown and discouraging him from this deadly repeal!  Doing so will save the lives of millions.

You can also contact Jerry Brown’s office by phoning (916) 445 2841.

You can write him at State Capitol, Suite 1173, Sacramento, CA 95814

Senior Dog Abused with Cattle Prod & More caught on video. Harlan County,KY!

Henry E. Brock…… you sorry excuse for a man…..

Last summer, this man’s ex-wife filmed him while he kicked, dragged, and used a cattle prod on this 10-year-old Senior dog last year!  The video speaks for itself!  Alexis Brock said the dog didn’t like being on a chain, and that Brock started beating it while she and their 2-year-old son watched!

Unfortunately a long time went by before this was discovered, and we don’t know how many times it happened to this dog or any other.  Alexis Brock, no longer living with her ex, turned the cell phone video over to State Police in March.  They used it as evidence to arrest him for a felony; torture of a dog with serious injury.  The dog was removed by police and animal control.  He has since bonded out of jail, awaiting his hearing.

Here is the video.  WARNING!  It is very graphic and you will probably feel the same as we do after you watch it!  This man needs to go to jail for a VERY long time before he hurts another animal OR HUMAN!  What sort of person does this?

Devore Animal Shelter, CA… complaints pile, and now kennel cards have been pulled off of adoptable pets!

According to a Facebook page called “REFORM DEVORE ANIMAL SHELTER“, Devore Shelter in San Bernardino County, CA has AGAIN pulled an unexplainable act that will lead to endless deaths of adoptable pets.  Rescuers and every-day people who network these faces before they get killed by this shelter are now scraping for details on the pets in need.  Most shelters will have what they call a “kennel card” which will explain details on each pet including intake date, age, breed, available date, spayed/neutered, etc.

There have been many concerns over Devore’s actions over the last few years pertaining to its selfish acts, but this one takes the cake!  They obviously do not want people calling their office and bothering them with adoption information.  The dogs now have id tags and when someone visits the shelter, they have absolutely NO INFORMATION regarding the dog, including its gender unless they look!  SHAME ON DEVORE!  Just another card they’re playing to see how much TAX PAYERS will ignore it.  PLEASE TAKE A STAND AND DEMAND CHANGE FOR THIS SHELTER!  I’ve only just begun, myself!!!   These people in charge of the shelter need to be banned from animal ANYTHING in the future.  Get rid of them!!!  The pets are going to die because of their power trips!  Enough said! (for now!)
